Come be part of an exciting IT firm that services the Twin Cities metro area.  Our clients rely on us for day-to-day technical support for their IBM i, iSeries and AS/400 environments.  We also support a large customer base of IBM i environments in the cloud.

If you are looking to put your IBM i skills to work and increase your skills, we have the position for you. We perform backups, migrations, release updates, PTF’s, disaster recovery testing, system installations and system administration.

Position Details:

  • Full time position, normally regular business hours with occasional prescheduled after hours work.
  • This is a salary based position that includes service efficiency, productivity and monthly incentives.
  • Position reports to the President and Vice-President

Skills, Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • 5 + years IBM i (AS400) technical support or operator experience.
  • Provide a high level of customer service with excellent communication skills.
  • Publish project scope, implementation, and design documentation.
  • Assist with system administration
  • Perform release updates
  • Setup and monitor backups
  • Install PTF’s and fixes
  • Setup LPARS
  • Perform system restores and disaster testing
  • Some help desk tasks
  • Troubleshoot system problems
  • Work as a member of a support team and individually
  • Work is mostly performed from our office with a small amount of onsite work at client locations
  • Be excited to work at many client locations with different people and personality types.
  • Ability to deploy both simple and complex solutions and provide ongoing support of client’s existing environment.
  • Gain and maintain partner certifications which will be obtained through online training.
  • Develop strong customer relationships to promote deeper involvement by our sales and services team.
  • IBM Flash Storage experience a plus
  • Virtual Tape Library (VTL) experience a plus
